Hey.. Did we have the same Mom or was it Doppelganger?? Ha,ha,ha..
I too asked for a record player & the albums my mother didn't already have (She LOVED Dolly too!) I did get that record player for my Christmas/Birthday Present in 1977 and a wastepaper can that was as tall as me! It had 2 pictures of her on it.. One country with a red dotted swiss top/the other a beautiful elegant dark green silk gown.. It was tops!
WOWIE it was a red plastic jukebox with flashing lights Gee the 70's were magical especially when you are little- everything flashed & glittered- I was not exempt~ my mom let me flash, sparkle & glitter as we danced about singing to Dolly :) We wore out the vinyl of every record .. I too will be 40 this Christmas my mother/best friend has since passed in 2006 but we continued our Dolly Dancing through the years. I dance with the moon and certainly KNOW my mother is right there with me :) Me too
I'll never forget the 1st record player i ever had as a kid. I told mom i wanted a record player and All Dolly Parton albums. My mom said recently i wore those albums out as a kid. It was the greatest hits and The Best Little something rather IN Texas when they 1st came out at the stores.. I was a little child then due to now being 40. Dolly after all these years you still make my Christmas and every day life spechial.. Love you Dolly and Merry Christmas
Hi Dolly! I`m a country songwriter & recently wrote a new song called "Christmas In Tennessee", that I had demoed..Is there anyway I can send it to you to hear?.I think you`d like it enough, to maybe cut it.Thanks hun, Gilbert
