oh I knew that college was segregationnaly expensive but I didn't know you had to pass a test.
in France university is almost free, anyone can get in in september, 1st exams are in december, 30% of the students see they can't follow and quit, which makes room. By the end of the 1st year, initial the students pool has been halved (more or less).
