The driver of a Saleen Mustang gives us a great example of how not to drive on a race track at a DE.

  • And what this vid is suppose to make us think your such a great driver. Well then tell me, your driving a very lightweight lotus elise, and that saleen is a much MUCH heavier convertable, probably with a spare and the whole 9, so with all your.. GREAT driving, why did it take so long for you to pass him? Not to mentioned you had better position entering and exiting turns, so you shouldve been fast, but you werent.fact is, in the right hands you never would have touched that saleen.

  • @xevious2501 If you knew anything about DE's you'd know there is NO passing without a point-by. I was following the rules by NOT passing him. Try reading some of the other posts and my responses.

  • I can see how a guy like him can make u angry...but the thing is the video itself is somewhat educational as u could have just shown people how begginers tend to make some silly mistakes and how could be corrected with the propper technique..thus making your skils pop out and not be a jackass in the process and still maintain the people interested in your video..this is just what I would have done..all that is in the past so why not make the best of those lost laps and teach people something

  • @DoubleAgent27 An excellent and fair point. Being an ass just comes natural, I guess. I will try your suggestion in the future. :)

  • I don't think he hit 1 apex or tracked out at all. That is the BIR long track isn't it?

  • @ryan8624 Yep. The old config.

  • If hes a beginner its very daunting driving on the track for the first time, the young guys are more wary about not writing off their car...

If he waved you by, he would have just passed you on the straights again. seeing as he does have almost 3x the engine.

It was just poor timing that you were both out there at the same time

  • Stop bitching and get over yourself. You don't corner properly either... taking way to much apex all the time. That why you aint a professional!

  • CAN that saleen handle those turn at higher speeds? I mean the way I see it if I tried going a little faster I'd probably automatically think "oh this thing is gonna end up in the grass or flip.."

  • went to one of the clinics at BIR and people signed up to drive the spec racers without even knowing how to drive a stick

  • damnnnn. i thought he was going to crash or something...

  • @MrTexasboy99 Bad lines taken through the corners, but the big problem is the mustangs' lack of driving etiquette, and it takes no skill or lack of to have that. If someone is all over you, you pull off the line and let them pass, simple as that. Track driving is very little about top speed in the straights and more about taking a corner fast, the mustang was considerably slowing the lotus driver down, , it only took a single corner to leave the stang in the dust.

  • what was so bad about his driving im not a pro so somebody tell me

  • I have to say the Saleen driver was doing the right thing about not pushing that car as hard as you push yours. With a car like that, it shouldn't take much to wipe out.
