I truly miss President Hinckley, his words and wisdom, his sense of humor, and his smile!

@sirchuck85 Also, Ja 2:18, "But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do." He is again stating that deeds should come as a result of faith; a response of praise.

@sirchuck85 Now you're putting words into my mouth. I'm guessing you are referring to Ja 2:14-26, where, if taken out of context, it would seem like works are required for salvation. But in these verses, it is saying that good works should come as a result of faith; a response of praise. Verse 22, "You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did." The note in my Bible says, "Faith that saves produces deeds."

a most incredible arrangement and performance, wow!

@brycepatties And allowing the Spirit to enter your heart is also a work. No matter where you start, God doesn't force us to believe in Christ. It is our choice, and therefore our ACT.
-
@brycepatties You're contradicting Christ, not me. Those are His words. Do you honestly not see a problem with saying, "I can't be perfect, so I'm not even going to try to do the best I can"? Your arguments contradict the entire second chapter of James. Our interpretation is perfectly in harmony with all the scriptures you quoted.

Love this song. I feel like I'm on my way to heaven.
I think God cares more about relationship than he does religion. We live in a society where it is ok to talk about everyone and everything except Christ. We often give praises to God, but leave Jesus out of the equation. At the end of the day, we have to go through Jesus to get to the almighty God. Our churches today are so caught up in titles and religion that we forget that neither of these things will get us into heaven. To sum it up, Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that HE IS LORD

I'm a Catholic. I sure wish we had songs like this in my church. Makes my eyes well up. Makes me feel loved by God. Thank you.
