This is our lesson number one on Enna's trach change. This an idea of how trach's are changed. This lesson is for on how to change Enna's trach so this information is just fo the idea of others who have to make this choice. We as Enna's parents made our choice because of Enna and the bipap was no longer an option for her. We prefer the trach over the bipap due to our choice in what we could do for her. We are very respectful for the RT that has worked hard with us and has worked very well with Enna. We have very much respect and are greatful for the RT's that have dedicated alot of their time, help with information, and care they have provided for our daughter. We have much respect for those who have stood by her and our side, and have respected our love and wishes for our baby girl. There have been many trials and errors, some hardmenships, tears, and the endless battle that goes in many directions. But for all that said we are greatful for what we have come threw and what we ourselves have learned and in where our strength had stood, even as weak and tired as we have been, no one is perfect, but in all thats how we learn. Much respect to the RT's and everyone who have had Enna in their hands, thoughts, and dedication. Thank you for all for helping us threw. For Enna and our family! Much respect.

  • There are many ways for children to communicate ! Our daughter has muscle weaknes Spinal muscular atrophy , which is the number on genetic killer in infants , so her voice is very weak so we have never had to cross this path ! She is starting to use and eyegaze ! But I do know that you must be careful with vocal chords ! I would ask many different opinions from other surgens and really research it out ! I am sorry i cannot be much more help on that !

  • I would like to comment that not only is the girl in this video beautiful, but she is a cause for my motivation in life. I had a tracheostomy when I was nine and ten years of age. I constantly wondered what my stoma looked like through the process of a change. It is because of Emma that my questions are answered and mind is more at ease. Thank you for posting this! God Bless!

  • my 2 months daughter has trech because of billetral vocal chord paralysis is there any alternative for trichotomy . i have heard that there is kind of surgery in which vocal chords are stitched so that air can pass , and is such kind of surgery safe ?

  • @falco6789 emergency sytem for when a patient life support such as air supply or heart beat is not functioning basically alert the nurse or doctor that something is wrong.

  • Is her real name Ennarsia?

  • that was her ventilator alarming. It was alarming because it's attached to her through her trach; so when the trach is removed/changed the vent senses it's disconnected. :) I have a little SMA1 angel too.

  • what was the beeping sound?

  • thank you for putting up this video. so we nurses could all learn and see the stuff we do
