  • Yo, these tutorials are on point! Awesome illustration, man! I just have a question... Hope it's not stupid... I'm new to Mac, and I'm having trouble downloading that "inking Template." I went to the webpage and clicked on it, but how do I get to to appear in Illustrator so that I can select it and use it like you did? It seems like without this particular template, it does a lot of weird stuff when I try to ink... Thanks!

  • @ettecnal When you download the template from my website, make sure to Right-click (or Ctrl-Click if using a Mac mouse) to download the file.Take a look at my video called "Illustrator Template - Finding the Brushes and Graphic Styles" to see what to do after you have downloaded it. Good luck!

  • I just wanted to drop a big thank you. I have been using pen and paper for ages, ink with brush and india ink. I have recently decided to move onto photoshop and illustrator. This is exactly what I was looking for. Your time is appreciated.

  • @jwalsh1208 Thanks! That's the best news I've heard all week...I struggled with Illustrator so much when I started, so I'm happy to know I could help out someone like you :)

  • Great tutorial. What program do you use to record video & zoom in on your desktop?

  • Hi cartoonblock! I used IShowU to record it on the Macintosh, and I used Camtasia on Windows for the editing and pan/zoom effects and the text overlays.

Thanks for asking! I appreciate hearing from you -- sherm

  • I like where this is going so far instant thumbs up I'm going to watch the rest if the videos now

  • @CartoonSNAP I use both. I love illustrator but prisma color markers are really fun to use as well. Hope that doesn't make me a nerd. LOL

  • Search YouTube for: freehand vs Illustrator and you will see that it is faster and easier to use PROVED ! Adobe are corporate scum, When a competitor comes along and makes better, cheaper software: FreeHand, they buy up this competitor take what they can make a fast buck from and shitcan the rest... Buy FREEHAND (but not from Adobe) it's the best ap. available online and in loads of places 25% or less of the price of Illustrator. Runs much faster than Ai, much smaller files... It's just beter!
