I had a video up before of this trip, but I accidently deleted it when doing a video cleanup. After spending 3 years on a camera card, I came across a bunch of old pictures from my trip to the Strasburg Railroad. I took a trip up to Lancaster Pennsylvania back in 2008 for my cousins wedding and while I was in the area I stopped by the Strasburg Railroad where I stayed at The Red Caboose Inn and also paid a visit to the Strasburg Railroad Museum and the train yard.

The museum had what appeared to be an Maryland and Pennsylvania SW-9 and I also came across a Brookville Diesel there. Also a find were 2 Pennsylvania Bud Cars and what looked to be a USRA dockyard switcher which I believe is close to Rosie's class.

To finish it up, I was able to get a picture of Thomas and Engine #90 side by side and also came across another SW in the yard. This will have been my 2nd trip to the Strasburg Railroad and hopefully I can see about taking a trip up to Knox and Kane sometime again.

  • I have seen a Climax with the company name on it, but not a Heisler before. Nice find!

  • @hiesler I remember when I found that I knew I just had to get a picture of it. =)

  • Bad news dude. Knox and Kane is gone. The trestle got hit by a tornado couple years ago.

  • @rushs11 I know, I took a trip up there right after it happened. One of my friends lived about a mile away and herd it when 11 towers went crashing to the valley floor.

  • Cool man number 90 is my favorite Strasburg Engine it was by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1924,it worked for the Great Western Railroad in Loveland Colorado and one of the Steam Engines in the musuem used to run on the Strasburg its Pennsylvania 4-4-0 #1223 built by the PRRS Juniauta Shops in 1905.

  • @up4004 #90 is my favorite too. I was talking to the Strasburg Railroad a while back about taking N&W 578 and restoring her to use on the railroad for train rides and my friend Gruda offered to help too. Sadly we never did get to buy her from the Ohio Rail Museum. I'm not sure if she's even there still or not.

  • that car isnt accually a trolly, its a self propelled Combine. it was originally a regular Combine Coach but converted to be self propelled by the Lancaster, Oxford and Southern. #10 has an interesting history

  • Nice video, but Strasburg Rail Road is 3 words!

  • when i went i never saw that #903 reading engine

  • Its an SW8. She looks amazing in her black paint now :)

  • isn't #90 in thomas and the magic railroad

  • interesting idea with the live in area, ashame there is no video of this place, what is my tube tip 1? where is the hot chilli starter?

  • hey it's Rosie :D Whoa, that Brookville diesel is like, so small =O

I remember you had a video like this. It's cool how you went to that place. I went to the Texas railroad one time when I was maybe 5, we rode the train to a station and me and my grandpa almost missed the train on the way back :P

Plus I also feel asleep on the return trip on the train.
