Other than rabid Prius owners, Subaru drivers seem to love their cars more than any other brand. For 2010 Outback gets an all new design. Tom Voelk takes a look at a top o' the line Limited model that's now roomier and more refined than ever.

  • tom, the side mirrors ARE foldable (at least here in Australia)

  • @adam1885282 sorry to hear that. Mine is faultless in these regards so maybe you got a lemon. Can Subaru themselves not find the problem or is it a dealer problem?

  • Good review, succinct sentences, clear speaking voice (no ums-ahs) - a pleasure to listen to.

I'll earmark Tom Voelk for future reviews.

Do you know, the top range model with all the fruit in Australia cost me 60K on road. You guys have it good

  • The 2010 3.6 was my first and will be my last Subaru. I love everything about the car except the bugs and ghosts that Subaru can't/won't work out in the transmission and engine. Random stalling, horrible shift pattern, etc. Oh, and make sure you search outback forums for "steering wheel shake" before you consider picking one up used.

  • as if you need to show what "up and down" is - LOL

  • Hi there, I have got to tell you, I really enjoy your reviews, thank you and keep up the good job

  • @wengil494 Also, the DCCD, VTD and ACT-AWD are electronically controlled instead of the Continiously AWD wich is completely mecanic...

  • @Zinizzle mmm, the most advanced are the DCCD and VTD... someone could say that the 50/50 is the best for snow, but it uses an open diff with viscous coupling wich needs a lot of spin to act and the fluid is not good at all. The Active AWD (60/40) has an auto lock up, but I think that for snow too much power is giving to the front axle, the VTD is more sportier and it has an auto lock. The DCCD used in the Impreza gives you the possibilty of three auto modes, or an adjustable split front to rear.

  • @wengil494 What do you think is the best? especially for snow. and whats the DCCD? thankssss...

  • @Zinizzle

    Continiuosly AWD (50/50-F/R)

    Active AWD (60/40-F/R)

    Variable Torque Distribution AWD (45/55)

DCCD for the Impreza STI (Starting at 41/59-F/R)
