could be ur carb dirty or could have leak in air intake take air hose off and put ur hand over mouth of carb press hand and let off and it might stop knocking ?

@oneword4letters dont get one dude i just got a 2000 bored out to 240 and after a few rides already have problems, get a ltz, raptor, honda ex, or kfx, some kind of four stroke, things last for years
-
Do blasters have problems because in gonna get one
-
mine had the same noise and it was bored over .40 and i had it for a year and i rode it every day and never had a problem with it
-
if you ask me all blasters make that noise
-
maybe because you lost a anti-vibration rubber ring.. or the bad oil
ya bro you engine is fucked, the crank shaft bearings are gone, your better off buying a used or new engine instead of getting it rebuilt

@fcanane1 It actually turned out to be piston slap, even though my 240 kit was brand new it wore that quickly. The bottom end was fine and it runs great now that the stock top end is back on.

So what was it?
scotchaaron 1 year ago
@scotchaaron It was excessive play in the lower rod bearing.

@horseye20008 - was there up/down play or side to side play? I just rebuilt the top end of my yamaha rt 180 and it sounded exactly like that before and after too. I couldn't detect and up/down play on the rod at all, but there was some side to side clearance. Did you replace the rod and lower bearing? Perform any work on the crank? Thanks.

@chadr00 well i haven't got into it too deep yet but the rod seems to have quite a bit of up and down play. I'm going to put a new crank in it so hopefully that fixes it.
