Chris said it's Sabbath influenced, but I've always thoughts it sounded pretty Doors-y to me. It's both actually. I fucking love soundgarden...

I remember an interview with Chris,(I think it was on MTV 1994) he talked 'bout this great song and he said somethin' like "it's one of my fav songs from superunknown cos it's very influenced of my fav band Black Sabbath(...)we tried to make something so dark, so raw, and the result was this song, yeh"

@samsael oh thank you, I nailed Limo Wreck today on the guitar, very fun to play... those harmonics are very mezmerizing don't you think? ..and yeah, well you didn't asked but Head Down, Pretty Noose and Burden In My Hand are in the same tuning

@samsael is it the same tuning used in Head Down and Pretty Noose?

@pearljamporch I can't tell for Pretty Noose, but the tunning used for Head down is quite different from the tunning used for Limo Wreck. Here's the tunning:
Head down (from low to high): C-G-C-G-G-E
Limo Wreck (from low to high): C-G-D-G-B-E
Almost identical... don't you think?
