In the bleak surrounds of the inner city, there are always, however few, those to beautify and improve the quality of life for the residents, family, and visitors to the neighborhood.
The Washington Community Improvement Council, initiated and run by native sons and daughters of New York's Spanish Harlem have managed to renovate and keep viable a playground left abandoned and neglected as was the inner city of New York urban landscape.
In what is now called Cherry Tree Park, WCIC has brought new life to the park and features an annual attraction to tourists and a continued much needed boost to the local economy and community's well-being in celebrating Father's Day for the last 25 years and all without gentrification...on their own!

The Rodriguez Family is incredible and have hearts of gold. I grew up with them and knew their parents. The foundation they received and I received from those fabulous parents inspired me throughout my life. I am so blessed to have had them in my life.
