Occupation is a Crime, from Teaneck to Palestine

Anti-occupation groups protest "Jews-only" real estate sale of apartments in the West Bank. Amana (amana.co.il), the seller, brought shiny booklets where each contraband town had its own profile listing Jewish-only community centers, Jewish-only swimming pools, distance on Jewish-only roads to major destinations... no mention of the fact that the land is stolen. Buyer, beware.

The sale took place in Teaneck, NJ at Synagogue B'nai Yeshurun -- notoriously right-wing and linked to the violent Israeli settlers who seize Palestinian land with the help & protection of the Israeli army.

Protesters are NJ & NY Palestinian & Jewish human rights groups, as well as local people from Teaneck and other towns. As usual, the Free Palestine movement is a motley crew. At this protest, there are those who know the ins and outs of the issue, and whose protest is factual and clear. And there are well-meaning but less-nuanced people who are so outraged about the simple fact of the settlements -- and that Jews would visit their own fate on another people -- that they descend into screaming. And that's just how it goes till the occupation ends.

The Israeli government insists that it's acting on behalf of all Jews when it kills Palestinians and destroys their land and society, so it's not a surprise that this video has attracted anti-Jewish diatribes. And many Zionists view a challenge to the occupation as a chance to hit back with anti-Arab racist bile, so those comments didn't surprise either.

After these steal their homes, the Isreali's force Palestinians into corridors and shoot them exactly as if the were rats I have never heard of a religious organization promoting such cruelty nor the immoral practice real estate confiscation for its members. This is just appalling. If this is what they actually believe, they should physically go there & do the dirty work themselves. They have no right to sully Teaneck's good name with such outlandish behavior. Rescind their tax exempt status.
