It's true that Venizelos is better but too far from downtown. I enjoyed enormously in Hellinikon landings.

In my opinion it would have been able to expand towards the sea. More expensive, too.

It's not difficult to think that private property won with that change.

Anyway, wonderful Greece: I always come back as long as I can do it. And Athens holds not only the Acropolis, but also the spirit o place: the cradle of our civilization.

No way. El Venizelos Airport is 100% better than Hellenikon. It is cleaner, more organized, and away from any populated areas.

Venizelos airport is a million times better and it had to be built. But I'll always remember Ellinikon with fondness! So many good memories.

Good old Helinikon! I remember a circle to land with a OAL727 in '80 during a night thunderstorm. what an experience!!!

Too much walking? If you want to see walking, land in Zaaventem intl (Brussels). That is an idiotic airport. Go and you'll understand why.
