Michelle Pfeiffer gets her Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

August 6, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. on 6801 Hollywood Blvd in front of the Hollywood and Highland complex. Paul Rudd (her partner in -the upcoming in USA- I Could Never Be Your Woman) and Jeff Bridges (her partner in The Fabulous Baker Boys) attended the event. Also her husband, the producer David E Kelley and her children Claudia Rose and John Henry have accompanied Michelle.

"There are so many people that go into the making of an actor's career, and first and foremost I want to thank my mother, who isn't here right now," Pfeiffer said.

You should have asked me. There is a Hollywood committee that meets to approve all the folks that apply for stars, but it's either the star, the studio, or when some celebrity passes a way, their fan club that comes up with the money. It was simply a PR gimmick that over time became an accepted cultural institution.

And yes, most of the time the emperor is no wearing clothes.

political satirist Bill Maher became the latest to PAY FOR A STAR for

the FAKE Hollywood honor. The Paid PR Star gimmick was timed to

coincideiwith the fact that "Real Time with Bill Maher" is back on the

air beginning Friday. the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which, er,

charges $25,000 for star, and maintains the stars, uses the money for

maintenance and tourism. It is not an award, it is paid PR. print the

facts, sir.

And it was about friggin' time! Some of those names were put on there when the actor did one stupid movie; Michelle should have gotten a star a long time ago! And she was robbed of an Oscar how many times? Now their giving out PC Oscars, good grief!

@cutlass19700 ive just read what you put and looked that up on wikipedia THEY DO NOT HAVE TO APPLY FOR A STAR they are usually nominated by fans and there management have to agree with the nominations but the 'stars' (celebrites) are only told they have the honor once it has been decided THEY DO NOT APPLY THEMSELVES!
