  • Who in the world would agree with an executive unilaterally declaring a "Bill of Rights" that serves the interests of the political class? Yet here we are, with the great majority eating it up like the kasha served up by socialist dictatorships.

  • @Reasonjester Apparently you did not listen to Roosevelt's words, but just responded with preconceived notions. He did not unilaterally declare anything. He challenged the Congress to do it. Incidentally, though you tea partyers like to re-write history, Roosevelt was elected four times. Perhaps it is your jestful reasoning that is out of touch with most Americans.

  • @saulllish Shouting it doesn't make it any less ignorant.

  • FDR warns us about the return of the 1920's "normalcy" in this and history did repeat it self during the bush administration. It's evident that the outdated ideas of "small government" does not work in the complex system of the modern economy. How many more recessions will it take until people get it?

  • Socialism= A poor man prints a dollar to help feed his family, he goes to jail for four years. A President prints thousands of dollars and gives it to corporations in the poor man's name and will get re-elected because of it...All liberals are good intentioned but you need to discipline your principles and goals.

  • He was reelected 3 times because Americans saw and heard in him, those things that we all aspire to have, an equal opportunity to achieve that American Dream. This does not mean we will all be equal in the end, but it does give us all the same chance. As for the 22nd amendment passed by the 80th congress in 1947, it was a republican majority congress, nicknamed "the do nothing congress" by then president Truman. They earned that name by doing what the 112th congress is doing.....nothing.

  • @babrahamson He challenged the Congress to do what? Make sure that I had to pay for my neighbors kid's food and education? What if I said, "no?" What if I said, "if you have kids you pay for their shelter and food." He and Congress would have me arrested like any good Socialist government. He was elected four times because he had wanted to have absolute power. He was so close to having it that Congress had to pass the 22nd amendment to prevent this from happening again.

  • @rnecas well then i guess it is a matter of philosophy then cause i would consider taxes not the govermeant taking from us but people giving a bit for the benefit of society and regulations are rules are made for a rezone (not to say there are not bad rules) cooperation necerary as you said but there are people who will not want to cooperate and as long as there are many of those the govermant should use "force" and anarchist is usally considered an insult when i see it so i did not want insult

  • @umbrum2 Is anarchist supposed to be an insult? I oppose, in all forms, aggressive actions against people. In the case of government, this usually takes the form of taxes (robbery) or regulations (slavery). I think, at very best, it's (possibly) good ends through evil means, but it's still criminal even if the government does it. I think cooperation is necessary for a society, but not force of government.

  • @rnecas that makes sense, but what concerns me is the mind set and wording you used about how government forces people to do all sorts of thing that are required by a society, it sounds anarchistic

(not to call you an anarchist)
