Short Field Landing by Alaska Airlines Flight ASA7612. This is the largest aircraft to land at San Luis Obispo's recently lengthened, but still short, runway.

  • @lunchbag08

True but landing distance after the G/S is only 4400. Like I said before, it is not that short but it is one of the shortest we land on.

  • @mike73ng Glad to see you on board still, Mike. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Is there a jetway at SBP that the 737 used, or did they use a stairway?

  • SBP is not set up with a jetway. All boardings and disembarking of commercial traffic is done by stairway.

  • whats the runway length i've landed a 737-400 on a 2000 ft runway on my simulator at around 120 kts autobrakes set to 3 full flaps spoilers armed to deploy and full reverse thrust after touchdown.

  • Bravo!

  • WAY TO BIG FOR SLO At current runway length

  • @Reed20009 The CRJ 900s are very nice... but a flight or two a day to Denver with a CRJ 900 would be nicer.

  • SLO Airport needs more larger Jet Airplanes to land here.

  • @lpocTV The San Francisco Symphony had chartered the flight for it's West Coast Tour. It's origin that day was Chico, CA and the symphony performed at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly, SLO.

  • @MSTLOM The departure end extension of Two Niner has just recently been completed. The approach end displaced threshold extension was done back nearly 10 years ago. KSBP is undergoing more renovation at this time as taxiway "Alpha" is demo'd forcing back taxi procedures for many of the larger aircraft. I waited 20 minutes with the prop turning last week to cross 29/11 so I could get back the newer east side hangars from the west side fuel depot!

  • @lunchbag08 Just rechecked SLO via GOOGLE EARTH The new pictures show Runway Extension on the north west. Yep! Its 6,100 now!!

  • @lunchbag08 I guess my RULER in GOOGLE EARTH is slightly off! Was close!..... Ah those fun days in SLO when I was stationed at Vandenberg back in the 80's!!!! NEVER did the worm at the "Flats" though!
