Cancer (♋) is the fourth astrological sign in the Zodiac. It is considered a water sign and one of four cardinal signs.[1] Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Individuals born when the Sun is in this sign are considered Cancerian individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Cancer on the moment of summer solstice by definition, or roughly on June 21, leaving it around July 21. According to an ancient Greek legend, the figure of a crab was placed in the nighttime sky by the goddess Hera to form the constellation Cancer. Hera swore to kill Heracles, the most famous Greek hero. Hera attempted to kill Heracles in many different ways, but each time his incredible physical strength allowed him to survive. Hera cast a spell of madness on Heracles, causing him to commit a great crime. In order to be forgiven, he had to perform twelve difficult tasks. One of these tasks was destroying the terrible nine-headed water-serpent, Hydra.

During the battle between Heracles and Hydra, the goddess Hera sent a crab to aid the serpent. But Heracles, being so strong, killed the crab by smashing its shell with his foot. As a reward for its service, Hera placed the crab's image in the night sky.

@cancerasia doesn't matter, both, the personality doesn't change of a particular zodiac sign based on the two system..., all that changes is the house and planet placement in those zodiac sign.

This is strange, I never really believed the zodiac until I started researching my sign. As a cancer, I am painfully shy and have a unbearable fear of rejection. And when I fall in love with someone, I'm very clingy and I won't let go. I've loved the same girl from the day I met her three years ago, and as we've never been anything more than friends (sad face), I've always helped her and guided her when things go wrong. I am a true Cancer.

I'm a Libra, so, eventho they're good ppl, Cancers irritate me SO much because of their moodiness! I can't figure it out, at all. I always keep thinking it's me, it just doesn't make sense at all. One day they're fine, next day it's like Jekyl & Hyde. to me, that's like a quasi insanity. I actually mean that. It's just not normal behavior, sorry...
