Pete and Andre played a great match in the 1999 Los Angeles final. Even though the match was for a championship and ATP points, both guys played the match almost like an exhibition, having fun in front of a very enthusiastic crowd.

  • what kills me is that in his book, Agassi says that he didn't care about losing this match...even though he was yelling and carrying-on throughout this match

I haven't read Agassi's book but he appears to be a man full of contradictions.

  • Sampras's forehand is excellent but it is NOT the best of all times!!! His running forehand is great and doesn't do a lot of inside-out forehand like Fed.

You guys are so bias because of nostalgia.

Althought, Pete has the best serve of all times.

Well on the first point I agree Sampras' forehand is not the best of all time but its one of the best, which is sufficient for me. I don't know who claimed it was the best.

On your second point, I disagree because Sampras hit as many inside out forehands as Courier, Agassi and Federer and Nadal after his period in the game. That in fact was Sampras' speciality - the inside out forehand. Perhaps you are thinking about the running forehand because of media interest in it.

  • @Techtribal1990 On the first point, I did claim it:-) And no one will tell me otherwise. cheers.

I think Lendl's is just as powerful, maybe slightly more consistent. Lendl is up there no question.

  • I miss this kind of tennis!!

  • @Techtribal1990 exactly:-)

  • Sampras was an incredible player also from the baseline, complete player, able to hit from everywhere, morrons who say that he was only a serve and volleyer never watched him play....

  • @cain2335 Agassi is full of shyt if he said that. He seems to have come down with a case of humbradge induced amnesia in retirement.

  • @hyperwarrior Whose forehand was better? He literally tilted every point of every game, serve and return, away from his FH. Add his 1st and 2nd serve to that and he dominated the game with 3 shots and great athleticism. His volleys were average as was his BH. Whose FH was that dominant? Enlighten me bro, cause I haven't seen it.

  • Thank you sooo much for this!!!!
