  • Somebody help me here. At the 9 second mark there is a sound four 'notes' long. It is heard at the beginning of Live at Budokan as well. Is that Tom Petersson running a pick over his bass or is it some wierd drum thing or what? What is making that sound?

  • You're correct, it's Tom.

  • Tom is playing his prototype 10 string bass in this clip. Hamer made him the 10 then made him the 12 after they decided the 12 would work.

  • so the stones HAD to have ripped off cheap trick for "when the whip comes down" right?????

  • Great Find here!! But makes me wonder. Van Halens first album didnt come out until a nother year after this performance. Everyone gives EVH credit for inventing the whole hammer on pull off thing. But here is good ol' Rick doing them in his own unique way. Kinda puts the EVH thing to rest. That should start a flame war from the EVH is gawd crowd...lol

  • The two morons who voted dislike must have been Jann Wenner and Mr. Henry.

  • Is there TWO guitars? It sounds like there is another guitar behind the curtain, but it might be just his technique.

God damn, this is chunky and bitchy guitar playing here!

  • It doesn't get much better than the late '70's for this band sometimes...

    they were borderline punk!

  • Is this from a complete show?

  • @colingawel Agreed!!!!

  • @ThePlum42 Cheap Trick- hard rock? I'd say they've done some heavy songs but they're definitely more RnR than just hard rock. Maybe heavy powerpop (RnR) is more apt?

  • @mc2NY Wenner doesn't like Cheap Trick?!? Guess he doesn't like RnR. Go figure!
