herdude, it is offensive to compare Martha with Helen Grimaud.
Martha will always be remembered and Grimaud is just a flash in the pan, really

Brava, Marta!! in my opinion, another great version is the one played by Alicia de Larrocha with the Montreal Symphony and Charles Dutoit conducting. You can faind it in Youtube. Both, Arguerich and de Larrocha, 2 of the best pianists ever!

Ravel + Martha= super awesome. This piece has melted my heart....the english horn is just too beautiful.....a legendary piece (and recording)!

argerich never searched perfection. and so this one isnt "perfect". but so beautifully played, one of most wonderfull rendition...

Désolé ! Je ne suis décidément pas d'accord avec tous ces éloges émerveillés : selon moi, (mais je fais peut-être erreur), ce second mouvement doit être interprété d'une manière très impersonnelle, simplement métronomiquement, sans rubato ni nuanciation excessive.

Thank you so much for this! She really improved this from one where she was much younger in 1991. Her style here is so much better, she is feeling the notes instead of just "keyboarding" them.
I am enjoying this so much that I would love to give it 100 more likes!

Martha Argerich is superb, there is no doubt about that. Yet if you like a truly steady metronomic performance, you should listen to Helene Grimaud's performance (available on youtube) - it is unsurpassable!
