The near enough original team of Alan Roberts Steve Ellis Christopher Musk Roger Tovell and Geraldine McCullagh (she replaced Laura de Vere who only stayed for a short while) with Graham Gardener on Sport. This is a patchy extract from a 1981 promotional video about Severn Sound Radio in Gloucester UK

I was a school boy in Gloucester when I was interviewed for their first edition flyer. I also had the chance of working with Muskie later on in life. Now .... I am in Asia and quite a long way away from Gloucester.

It does look like circa 1981 but Alan plays Bryan Adams Summer of 69 so it must be at least 1985. Really enjoyed seeing this though. Thanks Alan.

Love this Alan. As one of the original engineers along with Quentin, Mervyn & Tony (yes in the days when local radio had a full compliment of engineers) we had great fun, unlike today, people had a real passion for good 'local' radio. And those Sunday Joint programmes Roger Tovell, Chris Musk & I used to do were damn good fun.

This takes me back to when I was 10. Loved the whole Severn Sound team. I miss it so much. Anyone got a copy of the jingle that was played when Sever Sound went off air at night? Not sure, but I think it was titled 'you've got a friend' I might be wrong though.

Not so far, there was some video takes of Chris Musk, Steve Ellis and myself and possibly alos of Roger Tovell and Andy Westgate but so far haven't managed to locate the old VHS tapes.
Keep looking they will appear sooner or later

Ivanhoe was a great and very unique Presenter on Severn Sound and a great friend to everyone who worked there, He is also sadly missed by many and I for one regarded him as the best Reggea Jok in the UK, but for some reason the outside producers of this video couldn't film him as he wasn't available at the time. Also I mentioned the full time presenters at Severn Sound, while Ivanhoe was only a part timer along with many others.
