This is me drawing Gray from the manga Fairy Tail. I really had loads of fun painting this one
and I really hope that you'll enjoy watching it.

Program used: Photoshop cs3 Extended.
Tools used: Pen tool for lineart and a WACOM graphics tablet for the coloring.

Time wasted: too many hours ;)

det här är seriöst en av dom snyggaste teckningarna jag sett på länge, den är helt otrolig..! skulle älska om du släpper en tutorial på den! lr om du kan länka till en som redan finns~~ du har inspirerat mig till att börja måla digitalt igen, då jag gav upp för ett tag sen eftersom jag inte kunde få det att se snyggt ut! tack för att du är en inspiration ^^ *kram* keep drawing~~!

@Shishisama hej, jag inser att du posta detta inlägget för 7 månader sedan och får nästan be om ursäkt för att jag svarar nu men tack för all positiv kritik, jag förtjänar verkligen inte så mycket komplimanger :) jag har inte ritat på väldigt länge men håller nu på med en ny speed paint på över ett år. räknar med att den skall komma ut någon gång nästa vecka. tack igen för alla komplimanger och hoppas att du kollar på min nya film när den kommer ut :)

I know I'm a real noob so bear with me

You know when you're using the pen tool on the face, like on the eyes, the lines come out thick in some places and thin in some places. How do you do that? Does that mean the simulate pressure is on?

Also, when you're shading with the colours, how do you blend the colour in after you've applied the colour?

Thanks buddy. I use another technique on the face, still pen tool though but I select the whole area and then turn it to a selection instead of a line. then I grab the brush tool and just fill it in.

I use loads of layers, cuz I like how you can reduce the opacity and erase the parts you don't want without destroying anything of the picture. I think I used over a 100 layers on this one. To smoothen the shading out I used the smudge tool, gaussian blur will probably do the trick for you aswell.

well 76 to be exact =P but you get my point. But if you're gonna do like me and have tons and tons of layers, name every single one of them and for gods sake, group them up. If you don't you can spend ages looking for the right layer and waste a lot of time ^^

i dont mean to be a dick by this but the sword should have been an ice sword. gray uses inanimate ice creation magic so there would be no need for him to have a real sword. he could just make one. everything else im okay with.
