A fanvid made by me to entertain you, no copyright infringement intended!
I made this in particular for my bear, I send you many kisses.

Autumn Boy

Autumn Boy
Standing in the sunday rain,
Climbs a hill,
Watsches Starlings
Flying home again.
Autumn Boy
Got winter in his eyes,
But there's love underneath
That cold blue sky.

Watch that boy,
'Cause he's burning up inside,
He's seen his town
Fade away and slowly die.
Once that boy
Tried to hitch a ride,
Leave it all behind,
Forget the pain inside.

It's not that he's
Growing old,
Or feeling the change,
He wants to kick it all down,
And build it up again.

(Instrumental)

He looks at
His father's hands,
All dusty and grey,
He looks at
His mother's eyes
That hide from the day.

Autumn Boy...

(Instrumental)

Autumn Boy
Wants to read
Every book in sight
Wants to run so fast,
Wants to touch
Every shaft of light.
Autumn Boy is nobody's fool,
Because when winter comes
That boy will still love you.

  • This is an excellent song. I was amazed to find it posted here. I hope more people get to hear this underrated song from the '80's.

  • Dear Paulwlon, thank you very much! I was very sad last year not find that song here on youtube.... I took me some weeks to get that CD and to prepare this video... The 80's had a couple of intense songs that got lost through time... I've a couple of them in my mind... but i can't find them. It's a beautiful search and youtube gives me the opportunity to share them with the few other lovers! Greetings, Ines

  • Best song of a wonderful album! Criminally underrated! Thnx 4 the upload...

  • just saw that someone downloaded this video and re-uploaded it on youtube again. Whats the point of that? Same intro, same pics. But due to it the quality is less. It upsets me a bit as I had made the video myself....

I only discovered it as the dedicatee just searched for it on youtube but found the other version.

  • @dryrats pienamente in accordo con te.gran bel vinile.

  • Fantastic eighties: Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, Working Week, Tracey Thorn and her Everithing but the Girl, first Prefab Sprout and Simply Red, Alison Moyet, David Sylvian, Style Council and many others remember a lot of km while training........

  • This was the tape that was never sold in the NAAFi in Germany but i took a risk and bought it and loved it. it fitted well with my other loves of EBTG, Big Sound Authority and the rest. So smooth, so jazz groovey!!!

  • Like the rest of you, I NEVER understood why Working Week was effectively snubbed------------yet, Swing Out Sister (which started about the same time that WW faded out) has a significant following. Apparently; both of the above groups are linked.

  • What a jazzy atmosphere! This was standing in my LPvinyltheque together with Everything but the Girl, The Style Council and Carmel.

  • juliet roberts voice wow british like sade but hey i m sorry sade i love you too juliet is another galaxy

  • Great song! I think it's their best. Very unique.

    Thank you, TwoCrazySistaZ.
