In this video I refute all arguments in support of tithing (mandatory giving of 10% of monetary income), to include the prosperity preachers' latest scam that Jesus is the High Priest receiving our tithes just as Melchizadek/Melchizedek received tithes from Abram.

  • he starts with "in my opinion" and that's what it is. but it is a fact! that Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek some 200 yrs before the Law of Moses:) how did Abraham know how to give tithes? it goes back to Adam. Abel and Cain gave to the Lord at harvest tim. Cain gave some and Abel gave the best of the firstborn sheep. they gave a percent:) i believe it was 10%. Jacob gave tithes. God said bring the tithes; that My house may have food:)

  • @damanfrom808, you don't seem to understand that what Abraham, Cain or Abel did is IRRELEVANT because we are under a NEW COVENANT, where God no longer accepts or is pleased by DEAD OFFERINGS.

Jesus didn't offer Himself unto death as a "once and for all" and perfect offering, just so foolish people can turn right back around and try to please God with dead and obsolete offerings again. That's just crazy.

Folks don't read their bibles and have allowed themselves to be deceived.

  • Jesus taught us to take the principles behind the law and apply them to our lives. Not to forsake the law. e.g. the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. On these hang all the law and prophets. This is the same with tithing. Compulsory tithing is not Scriptural, however the principle of honoring God financially absolutely is; as each has purposed in his heart give. Tithing is not a requisite of salvation

  • @wprior, this is essentially what I said in this video.

  • Wow, this is the exact opposite of everything I've been taught in my christian experience over 20 years. I always felt guilty when I couldn't tithe. I know that God is love. Wow.

  • @vlrparks, that's precisely why I did this video. I thank God for using this to open your understanding.

  • @NYTNinAmerica "foolish people", "try to please God with dead works":( this is how you describe those who give unto the Lord in faith. Heb 11:4 first on the list of those who give to the Lord in faith is Abel. now why would God put Abel in the new testament? and with an example of giving by faith? because the new covenant that you talk about, is through faith in JesusChrist:) it's better to give than to receive:)

  • @NYTNinAmerica under your unscriptural logic, all tithes and offerings are dead offerings:( you just undid Luke 6:38 and 2 Cor 9:6-9. i can understand you not wanting to give:( but to encourage others not to give:( let's see your church do the Great Commission without finances:( you're too heavenly minded, no earthly good:(

  • Exodus Chapter 20:Vers.17 the tenth commandment: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

  • I agree with everything that you're saying. I believe people have been bound by tithing. And believe that people stopped tithing during the early church. And the catholics reestablished it. I could be wrong. But in my opinion. You should not come at these preachers for preaching on tithing. Most of them were trained and taught incorrectly and you can't blame there for preaching something they're ignorant to. And if you persecute them . You have to persecute almost every pastor in America.

  • @NYTNinAmerica And then in Malachi, people leave out that the corrupt priests were being addressed in chapter 2 but you never hear any ministers talk about this

  • @NYTNinAmerica Correct. In Isaiah 1:13-15, giving and offerings, worship and praise given in an unrepentant condition is worthless. Abraham giving tenth is under law because genesis is one of the 5 Abrahamic books called by the jews "The Law". Christians don't understand that and say well Abraham didn't tithe under the law, well that is not true, it is still under the law, the penteteuch, first 5 books
