For those who have taken a Stand against this insidious CULT of Scientology I thank you. For those who are "in" and think you cannot leave: Take a Stand and walk out. There are many levels of Scientology Sea Org, Staff and Front groups. I forgot to mention the Public who are just people paying for training and/or auditing and Volunteers, also. Lastly the darkest side of all: The Office of Special Affairs which is supposed to be Scientology's PR and Legal arm. Unknown to most Scientologists, this is also the group doing the dirty tricks, and lying to people on the net, working to stop free speech, break up families, etc. Make sure to get these books: http://www.blownforgood.com and http://www.mybillionyearcontract.com And make sure to TAKE A STAND http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YXwoL9JyWg (Why you should come picket)

  • While I recognise Scientology as a thoroughly corrupt and evil organisation, I don't think that their lack of faith or belief in Christ is relevant since many people outside of Scientology also share this view. Scientology may not be a "proper" religion, but then the world religions are hardly a beacon of enlightenment or free from blame for atrocities and abuses.

Scientology should be a lesson about all irrational beliefs, not an up-sell to another erroneous belief system.

  • Their lack of Faith IS relevant when their spokesperson is constantly harping about "My Faith". His FAITH in What? L. Ron Hubard? DM? COME ON. I understand how you feel, but Scientology and "other religions" are dramatically opposed, no matter how bad you feel about any religion. Sure others have abuses, but this is not a religion, it's a cult---and there IS a big difference, per academics who study both. I have no "up-sell" in mind or words, re this topic. Happy Sunday :) Tory/Magoo

  • OK, so these people who have been stripped of everything, and are stuck in this cult, where do they go if they escape? Won't they kind of end up homeless?

  • The only people who end up "with nothing" are those who were "in" the Sea Org--and they only don't have 'stuff', they have tons of ability, family, etc. ALL of them are doing G R E A T. The rest are, too....far better than when "in".

    Happy Sunday :) Tory/Magoo

  • There are stories of people getting chased by security if they try to leave, and IIRC one girl got her wrist broken when she tried to blow. That may have just been from the Sea Org in general though...

  • Hubbard says we made the universe, are trapped in it and OT powers are our original god-like abilities. This dovetails with his Satan-worship (stay with me). Satan sought freedom from God telling his followers that He was putting one over on us all by claiming He was the Creator. For Satan claimed that we created ourselves. That's the whole first half of 'Paradise Lost' and Milton spends the second part overturning the idea of Satan-cum-freedom fighter. Hubbard reckons faith is in ourselves.

  • Are those in the RPF held by physical force? I've always wondered about that.

  • I hope so, its not always easy to takes those first few steps in the real world. I'm sure its very hard to account for all the people who have left the cult in drastic states, emotionally and financially. If it makes you feel better, there are people keeping an eye on the office up here. Its almost empty, and I'm sure the space they are leasing is costing them tons.

  • @Darkromani

Unless people have made gone a long way in Scientology they generally don't know what the founder teaches about Christ, but if you do a youtube search on this subject, you will hear the founder of Scientology telling people there was no Christ.

  • This was in answer to bigbearjohn's comment, below re my hair. :) TLC
