Firefighters Without Borders BC team travels to Paraguay in Feb 2009 to donate firefighting equipment and training to volunteer firefighters in the capital city of Asuncion. Our thanks go out to the fantastic women and men of Hall 3 in Sajonia (say-HONE-ya, who demonstrated a true passion for protecting their community and showed us the real meaning of hospitality.
In addition to our duties at the fire station, we found some time to visit a local orphanage, get a behind the scenes tour of the Itapu (E-ta-poo) hydro-electric project and tour Iguasu (E-gua-soo) falls which sits at the borders of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
