Adobe Flash on mobile phones has always seemed fairly anemic. The player didn't support much of what developers were using Flash for and it wasn't available on a lot of platforms that developers cared about. At the Mobile World Congress Adobe announced a series of efforts, amongst them:
1. a new 10.1 player for Android and Palm, with other platforms coming soon.
2. A new compiler/converter for packaging Flash apps up and shipping them on the iPhone and iPad.
3. A new AIR runtime for mobile phones so developers can ship AIR/Flash apps like Tweetdeck or Seesmic directly onto Android or Palm without doing much additional work, if any at all.
For many years there's been a cloud hanging over Flash and a sort of unspoken assumption that it's on the way out and about to be replaced by something bigger and better. But those sons of a guns at Flash just keep hanging on and proving all us wrong. All those non-Apple smart phone developers must be dancing in the streets every time they hear confirmation that the new iPhones and iPads are not going to have Flash.

@bweazel We wait for all the videos showing hulu, hobnox audiotool, farmville, and all the other 3 things that people always complain about needing flash for. Then, we see a backlash of the disillusioned masses rise up.. between those whose update to froyo never came and never will.. to those who find the mobile web as promised was just anti-hype generated by a dying breed of media designers upset their creations are now irrelavant to such a huge market segment. I think that's what ;)

hilarious.. do a google search for 'flash goes mobile' and you'll see this same tired parade from 2009 and 2008.. Adobe is great at annoucements.. not-so-much at backing them with actual working software products on the devices they promised them for in the end.
