so true...all we achieve by playing modern games is damn trophies, for something actually useful they invented DLCs....so true

Trophies and Achievements are not that bad, but they would AWESOME if they came along with unlockables! It would be like "We will give you a sticker that shows how awesome you are AND give you a little something for your efforts!"

Imagine playing a new Doom and coming upon the room with the BFG. There is a code lock on the door to get it to open, and in order to get the door to open you have to punch in your credit card number. A fee will automatically be deducted from your account and then the door will open.
If this starts happening I can see piracy and cracking getting a lot more popular again.

@goddimmus True dat. tl;dr, DLC can be great if the company knows when to give it and how to price it. Modern Warfare 2 was done WRONG. Too expensive, and too early.

Truer words have never been spoken, Brad.

Brad is 100 fucking percent right on this. The sad thing is, everybody is always like
"Well it's only ten buck who cares". The thing is, it used to be FREE. Games didn't use to do this bullshit. Before, hard mode and extra characters were part of the game, not "DLC".

games should be longer they are so short now

Brad for President :D

I thought I was the only one who thought that way, thanks Brad.
I'd prefer content already in one game, and wait out for an entirely new game, than compared to paying out the nose for extra bits and pieces of a game that should've been included as an entire set.

Were heading into another gaming crash people i can feel it in my vains

halo 3 is the worst with DLC. They actually require you to buy the maps to play online modes.

So true. It's a sad state of affairs. Also what happened to split screen and cutscene replay. They seem to be getting far and few between. :( I miss unlockables. Points are starting to irritate me. I wish there was an option to turn them off so I wouldn't surrender to the obsessive achievement/trophy unlocking. Damn you achievements/trophies, damn you to hell!
