I love hicks but he ripped this off from Steven kings book "The Stand". Waffle house.. comment on reading a book... yep, he ripped it off. He might of read the book, forgot about it then thought this was an original thing to say... but maybe not. Hey, at least he was actually reading, even if it was only Steven king...
Find the passage? I don't own the book, and even if I did it's almost a thousand fucking pages long! However, I am almost positive that the book reading comment and the confusion from being asked the question are both in the book. It's almost identical, that's why it immediately came to mind. The scene has nothing to do with the plot, and is small and easily forgotten. I doubt King even remembers writing it. He is known to be thoroughly plowed when writing, he doesn't even remember writing Cujo
I like the way people have thumbs downed you for saying this! They obviously really do not get what Bill Hicks was or else they would compliment you. They must be waffle waitresses
Could be that he did, though I haven't read that book so I wouldn't know what to say. But you people shouldn't thumb this guy down because he said that. Ok, saying he "ripped it" kinda has a negative tone to it, but I don't think there's anything wrong with taking inspiration from a scene in a book to turn it to a joke. Frankly, I don't care if it really happened to him, because it easily could've and it's funny as hell.

But Hicks added the part about the guy rising from the booth, right?
