James Andrew McAvoy was born April 21st, 1979 and is an Golden Globe nominated and is best known for his starring roles in Academy Award for Best Picture nominated film Atonement, Academy Award winning The Last King of Scotland, and the Emmy nominated British TV series Shameless.

He was born in Glasgow, Scotland who's parents divorced when he was seven and subsequently lived with his maternal
grandparents. He graduated the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2000. He has dated actress Emma Neilson and broke up in 2003. He is now married to Anne-Marie Duff, wedding in 2006 and currently reside in London together.

Ugh, to hear James' compared to actors like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt makes my stomach absolutely turn. I would say that both of those men are dedicated- but to what I'm not sure. I think that James' dedication appears clearly to be for the art of good acting. The director of Atonement said it well when he said - roughly- "When he smiles you smile and when he cries- you cry." EXACTLY! He's more than a drool factor player, he is a pure talent. He'll bring in money but for all the right reasons.

I love James McAvoy! I'm so happy that he's doing well! I absolutely love all of his movies and whenever a movie seems as if it's going down under, he often saves it with his stellar performances! It's so nice to see that he isn't caught up into the whole Hollywood drama and within all his fame he still remain humble! and cute! hee hee! Keep on keeping on James!
