The thing with the GMA 500 graphics core in this is, it accelerates any aspect of MPEG2, VC-1 or AVC (h.264) decoding.
So if your player supports DXVA output you'll get smooth playback. The thing about "watching stuff on a 50" LCD" is, the chipset in, and subsequently the Viliv S5 only supports VGA out, there is only a VGA cable, and a composite cable for the device, and the signal quality is not the best......
but if you could show this on 50" lcd tv that could make a difference. (i think. i heard so)
Especially that there are times, when 720 mkv could be decoded improperly by coreavc, and working very wel with ffdshow. And this is something that you could see even on 4.8" screen.
Of course it doesnt happen too often, only some encodes doesnt work well with coreavc.
i mean, the device only has 1024,600 resolution, so it doesn't even show 720p at full res. on top of that, on a 4,8" screen there is no way you'll see a difference between CoreAVC and FFDshow
thx for info :)

Rest of them works very well

does it realy matter?

But its decoded by CoreAVC right? Which produce worse image quality than FFDshow
