2:21 is the best part of the vid. I think Mark Farner has the best on stage anergy and stage presence over any hard rock band. The puts on a show. great guitar playing, singing harmonica. PLus, the bassist and drum mer are kickass. LOve these guys to death.

mark fahrner is the most underrated rock guitarist ever. GFR is SO EPIC!

Foggy memories of a 75 Camaro on a Texas two lane blacktop with a cooler full of Coors and a distorted 8 track at warp nine. Damn good times.

straight up rock and roll

A very underrated group. These cats understood what Hendrix knew; that real rock is soul and blues.

I seen a few fans go up on stage and they all were so cool about it , they let them dance around with mark and just escorted them away ! everybody having a good time. If it was a guns n roses concert , security would tackled them instantly , and that jerk AXLE would have been punching people and walking off the stage !

love 2:20

@PackedFunk This is 18 years before Guns & Roses BTW, and it surely kicks asses more than Guns. Maybe when people see the nameGFR, they think it's G&R or has something to do with it, it may be a reason why GFR is not in the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame :-p.

epic
If this is considered bad guitar playing, then I guess that means that I like bad guitar playing, because frankily--I can't think of anything I DON'T like about Mark's playing! His bluesy-style (and, yes, it is VERY bluesy), his use of effects, and his ability to take a generic guitar and get some awesome tone out of it!

As we all know from Rock History, different is Not Bad. I guess I like "Bad" guitar playing too. The music these 3 young men created in '69-72 changed music forever. 10 minute "Power Songs" such as this were designed for "LIVE PERFORMANCES." Grand Funk Railroad was a "PERFORMANCE VEHICLE!"

What great stuff... I agree.. their best album was the first one Grand Funk.. the one with the red cover...Classic!

Actually, that was the second album robert. The first was "On Time". I think their first 5 albums were great, especially "Closer To Home". The power trio stuff was in a class by itself. I hope you signed the petition robert. Thanks Bro.

man this band would of been so much better and have so much more recognition if they stuck w/ their great balls to the wall rock n' roll like their self titled album and didn't do we're an american band and i'm your captain shit.

American Band I can see, however, I'm Your Captain is one of the greatest songs ever written. I'm Your Captain was the power trio version of GFRxR.
