Canal boat 'Amsterdam' River Severn, Worcester, Worcestershire
Videoed on Friday, 26th June 2009

"Built between 1929 and 1935, Amsterdam is a narrowboat with a steel hull built by Yarwoods of Northwich. She is one of only 35 of her type, 30 have been documented and Amsterdam is one of five whose history is uncertain. Originally a 'station boat' for the LMS Railway Company, she was converted in the 1990s as a BCN motor boat by Martin Fuller. The hull remains original and all fixtures are in keeping with the period. She is powered by a French twin cylinder diesel engine by Baudouin. Mr J Wilkinson was her owner at the time of her refurbishment in the 1990s, he sold her to a Mr Ward about 1998. Her present owner bought her in 2001."
