I just saw on CNN a story about how being homosexual is illegal in an African nation, which is causing a 'hit list' which is calling for beheading about 100 gay people. Perfectly justified, right? Because homosexuality is immoral and spreads disease, right?
Hating sex workers, or their clients, is identical to homophobia, with identical consequences. Can we please move past witch buring and hit lists on people with different beliefs or lifestyles? Violent idiots use publicly sanctioned repressed self righteous bigotry as an excuse to beat, rape and kill women because they "are only whores." Calling them victims of their own lifestyle or choice in beliefs doesn't help anyone. If you are a judgmental repressed hateful bigot, just admit to yourself what you are and stop trying to put people different from you, who hate or harm nobody, in jail. You can't make everyone just like your own ignorant ass just by hating them and getting them arrested, or beaten, or raped or killed when THEY haven't violated anyone or anything but YOUR prejudices. We are in the dark ages.

  • In the US where it's illegal, john's call the cops when something is amiss sometimes as well, I read the cases. This video shares nothing new with me, disappointing. Also ignores why it's illegal, she just talks about the ideas bundled with it, but not the numbers. After looking at both sides, I see no reason why this should be legal, weighing the greater harm. Sex workers need to face the realities of what they have chosen.

  • @booboonation I appreciate the thoughtful comment, and respect your perspective.

I can't share it however. To me crime is simple. It is the violation of a person's consent or choice over their own body and private property. It is simply psychotic to me to put that clear definition in jeopardy to enforce one's own repressions and biases onto what others choose to do with their own bodies on private property, especially where not a single unconsenting soul is involved.

  • So under my definition, when a person supports abduction, home invasions or other activities, even under the "authority" of government agents, then one is supporting REAL crime by men with guns against others who have philosophical disagreements about indirect harm arguments. The precedent set by endorsing such violent criminal activities for philosophical or moral opinions does not bode well for the future freedom of humanity. It's no slippery slope, its a death plunge.

  • One last thing. Using "numbers" to support persecution is just meaningless.

Widen the set, choose different variables, and you can make the numbers appear to say anything you want to support the final solution for jews or any other group you would like done away with....the only thing worse than damned lies are statistics.

  • @saraco678 of course it's dangerous, it's dangerous mostly because it's stigmatised and illegal.

  • @saraco678 and how is criminzaling it making it any safer ? That was exactly her point.

  • Most interesting video i've seen in a long time! -- though nothing new since I live in this "paradise" of the big brother ever watching and "protecting"...

  • we don't have industrial vaginas. comparing prostitutes to a hospital worker is a misleading comparison. and she absolutely doesn't understand feminist theory and writing---read it before commenting on it or don't claim to understand it. and i have worked to help many prostitutes, and she makes it seem like it's such a safe "industry" for prostitutes in negotiating condoms, etc.

  • It's quite interesting that drugs are also repressed in Sweden... I guess laws regarding sex and drugs go together in most countries.
