@warman31 Exactly, it's called innovating. Iron Butterfly invented heavy metal with In a Gadda da Vida. Black Sabbath just came in and redefined heavy metal.

@TheRokunana No, the name "heavy metal" is because of what happened to Tony's fingers. Heavy metal broke 2 of his fingers off so he had to play a different way. That's where the power chord is reintroduced. And the power chord is the heavy metal chord.
