@slimeball6969 I understand that, but I don't think I was clear with my question. With your experience or the events you have observed while being in the Navy, do you think that ASL could be used in the Navy? For an instance, the Army could have signs to signal or communicate from a long distance when they are out in the field.

SImilar to the signing I learned in the Marine Corps. during my dive training in Florida... Being out so long, I've done forgot it. I should actually learn signing for my son, to help in communicating, because he's autistic. He's only 2 right now, so we're hoping speech will come to him soon with the therapists... Good job on the video...

I did understand and we did learn hand signals to communicate through a closed door that has a view port. The signs are not the same. The number signs are their own and most of the stuff is pantomime. special forces such as navy seals and navy divers use their own hand signals to communicate things that is crucial to their mission

Thank you for sharing this video with us. I have a few question for you. I wonder did you ever use ASL when you were in the Navy? Or did you think that using ASL will benefit for anyone being in the Navy?

@MOA2002 unfortunately American Sign Language is not a recognized "foreign" language. I have not used ASL a single time in the Navy for any official business
