Architects are designing modern homes from the millions of excess shipping containers that are piling up at the port of LA due to the US trade deficit with China. By using the steel shipping containers as building material, homes can save 50% of construction costs, while reducing the waste and blight caused by trying to store them.

  • WTF 3000sqft?

  • @Raaszhecku LOL, that sucks. These houses are neat though!

  • @larsjake I'm not rich enough to become president.

  • @Search4diabetescure Where does it say we have to pay taxes and agree with the government?

  • @Raaszhecku YOu should run for president, no kidding.

  • @djkenny Minimum wage isn't the only way we're being shafted. Take a look at the list of minimum mandatory leave.

  • @Search4diabetescure Considering the gross amount of taxes we're forced to pay: Yes, these services should be provided. It's either A)Low taxes and the government goes back to its basic function or B)The current level of taxes and it provides quality services (Healthcare, free education k->College, etc). Anything less than either of those is just screwing the citizen.

  • @search4diabetescure in the preamble, in order to form a more perfect union, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare. You should take a look at it sometime.

  • @Search4diabetescure problem is due to speculation. People are both priced out fo homes and also cannot afford high rents, not too mention the horrible job market in many areas. Often housing is just not affordable for people living on our substandard minimum wage. Add children to the mix, and you have a real mess w/ affordability. Our lac of universal health care makes affordable living even more challenging. College costs are through the roof too. There is many issues leading to housing help

  • Why does the government has to sponsor or pay for "Low Income Housing"? Where does it say in the US Constitution that the government has a role and responsibility to provide for the welfare of citizens including housing? Isn't this far beyond the scope of what the Constitution provides and requires?

Aside from that, I want a Shipping Container Home, and I will pay for with my own money. Thank you very much.
