Um...les claypool sounds like victor wooten? When was the last time you saw Victor play an upright...never! How about a bass with 6 strings or no frets or with a wammy bar? Les has chops but his tone and approach is way different than Wooten. The fact you said that means you don't really listen to either of them all that much...

well cliff was pretty good as far as metal shredding goes, just like kurt was good at... uhh, yelling?
ok to be fair kurt was a decent songwriter and he could have gone further with that. cliff could've become a metal bass shredder god but that's about it.

I've said this before...Les is a versitile bassist and while he has amazing chops, he's a bassist. I've played in everything from classical music, jazz to prog metal...and I change my bass playing quite a bit to fit the genre I'm in...its part of the role of any good musician.

See above...someone was at a recent concert Les was complementing someone wearing a "primus sucks" shirt. Thats proof. Until there is a press release or official blog, its something they have to live with...
