Wikipedia is probably the most Democratic forms of information out on the web. Are there errors? Absolutely. But you can learn a WEALTH of knowledge on general history, politics or billions of other topics. To say Wikipedia is irrelevant is ridiculous. It's probably the greatest tool we have for learning about all sorts of topics and it doesn't cost anything, unless you like $5,000 encyclopedia sets in your basement.

its not a two santa clause theory, this is bogus, its the bilderberg group and trliateral commision, your theory lacks meaning, bilderberg has a reason, has a cause, has a plan, this is just to get votes, gain popularity in a rat race he thinks is gonna make him money, stupid, wait no, "republican" ideologies that will become his profit, what he doesnt understand though is this is bigger than the pres. or the country, this is about money, and who has the money? the fed? its bigger than obama...

Raising taxes on the rich, favoring higher tariffs & promoting gov't spending to lower unemployment in the Depression -- that's a side of HH the Hoover Institute never talks about! But just like FDR? Pushing Social Security, favoring unions, separating investment houses from commercial banks ala Glass-Steagall, repealing prohibition & assisting small homeowners with mortgage problems? That's a side of HH I haven't yet found, though I wish it were true. Your sources for this are...?

@dmp079 Thats because Dems say whatever sounds good in the election campaign to get elected but they don't mean it. Obama is a good example. No matter what Clinton said and then McCain Obama could always come up with something that sounds better regardless of whether or not it was realistic.

@TheDecidicator Nothing Hartmann is a lunatic.

@daveelderdotcom Hoover increased gov spending by near 50% with lots spent on public works projects the most famous of which is the Hoover Dam started in 1930 He also raised taxes on the rich making the top tax rate 63% He also signed the Smoot Halley Tarriff act. FDR simply expanded on what Hoover did.

What does this have to do with Hoover or his policies?

wasn't it republicans getting caught doing the "gay thing"??

What choice do we have, before a third party could even have a chance,we have to get rid of the electoral college. On top of that who would fund the third party candidate?A corporation. We need a new constitution the original one is outdated and obsolete.
-
Reagan started the spending like a drunken sailor and that caused a 28 year never ending trend. After we won ww2 spending slowly decreased until reagan brought it up again.

Deny.
-
I heard that democunts suck balls, can anyone confirm or deny.
Say hi to your mother for me.
-
Sorry about the typo - I meant "Apartheid," of course.
-
Aparheid, American style: The ignorant minority overwhelm the informed majority and Bill Clinton signs that stupid welfare "reform" bill.
-
He's right about Wikipedia. Look how sympathetic it is to the lie at the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

I believe this whole Democrat/Republican - Left/Right labeling thing is way off the mark from the reality of American politics as it exists today. It is really all about corporate versus populist control of our legislators.
BOTH parties are in the pocket of their corporate masters. Kerry OR Bush for god's sake! This is an actual choice?
Its a game folks ... our team vs. their team. It is an illusion! "BLUE DOG's"??? We live in a Corprotocracy. Third party or no vote!

@ MaryJesusJoseph
Yes, they certainly do. They are like a steam-roller, baby. And because people assumed Obama was getting the war wound down, the anti-war groups went kaput...
Now that we see what is happening, there is a rally scheduled for March 20th. I am planning on going to that.

@greatbroad Well, Republicans do have a very effective propaganda arm--talk radio and Fox News.
-
It just seems to me that republicans are much, much craftier than democrats, with Americans losing out.
I guess if you want something done right, you must do it yourself. Looks like a huge grass-roots movement is coming. If The People lead - then the leaders will follow (in theory) if they wish to be elected.

The democrats always caved in when pressed hard. Ever since Jimmy Carter's election Democrats has caved in to right-winged demands, and Republicans have always ran marathons when in office. Thom is right. The democrats act like sissys. I am a die-hard progressive and see the faults of democrats. Dems need to grow balls and bring in real progressives!
Maybe we can find some way to get Thom Hartmann and Michael Moore to form their own independent party and run for office. Thom for Pres and Mike for VP!
Now that is a dream team!

I sent Barack an e-mail a couple of weeks before the SOTU saying if he chooses to speak like FDR but act like Herbert Hoover, he'll be remembered as the new Hoover. I guess he's decided he doesn't mind if the shanty towns in the new decade are called Obamavilles.
