when you have very little money and need more room in your home. They will take you to the cleaner. Try to build without all of the fees and permits. They will come to your home and tell you that you have to tear it all down. I have seen this happen and government needs to butt out. Too much government is a bad bad thing. When you "buy" your home don't think you can do what you want with it. The local government will tell you what you can and cannot do.
