I know this comment is a year old, but it's worth bearing in mind that when james uses the JCM900 he usually uses a Boss FZ-2 hyperfuzz pedal on the "boost" setting to get his overdriven sound.

@heyaevery1x he uses 2 mesa boogie Lonestars and JCM 900's that are mic'd through a PA system. the PA dosent make the original sound, the amp does. hope that clears it up slightly

'partoftheratpack' i kind of agree with you there on 'generation tereorist' the sound off james guitar was a statement it self... although i dunno if you sore them in concert this year? i did and the amps sounds great in the flesh!

i think since james started using mesa boggie amps his sound has gone shit,,,should of stayed with marshall,,orange,,trace,, ,,vox,,and fender.
