Jeremiah Murphy is a comedian living in New York City. The son of a preacher and a teacher, he is a product of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, The Peoples Improv Theater, Michael Howard Studios, Actors Connection, and various New York City based temp agencies. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of the South, commonly referred to as Sewanee, where he was awarded a Tennessee Williams Scholarship for Creative Writing. The influence of this extensive training is reflected in his original blog posts, which are a composite of Classical influences as well as the hallmarks of Irish-Swedish-American values. Choirs and soloists have admired him in some fashion. In 1999, Jeremiah auditioned for the Julliard Drama Department and recieved a callback. Jeremiah just wants to throw that out there.

A sought after artist, Jeremiah's work has appeared on the A&E Biography Channel, WNYC, Nickelodeon, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, feature films, and The New York Stage. He writes and performs stand up, sketch comedy, the superhero comedy web series The Night Devil, and is always working on new scripts. Here's a spec script he wrote for The Office, "Health Fair." You might also catch him as perennial poltical candidate, Eddie McOwskey. He is currently working hard starting his personalized videogram business, Chuckles The Birthday Bear. At the age of ten, Jeremiah single handedly contracted the Chicken Pox and has kept a small scar on his forehead as a trophy for overcoming yet another hurdle in the track meet of life.

Jeremiah holds memberships in Actors Equity Association and the United Auto Workers 2110. Gifted with a unique speaking voice, he often impresses his mother. He is a teacher of improv and comedy writing. In recognition of his exemplary performance as a performer, he was awarded the prestigious Toby Award in 2000 presented by The Jekyll & Hyde Club.

Jeremiah's skills as a writer, performer, video artist, and producer were showcased in the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival Production of Vote McOwskey. He was a founding member of improv show Character Dogville which performed around New York City for five years. He has was invited to speak as a guest artist for Columbia Univeristy's Urban Studies Department regarding his geurilla short film, Ikea Dracula, shot entirely in an Ikea store during business hours, incorporating the furniture displays as sets. In 2008, Jeremiah's film Final Discourse won the Uncle Dracula 48 Hour Film Race hosted by the Sage Theater.
