We take a look at Milwaukee's copper tubing cutter. Here we take the 2471-22 automatic copper tubing cutter and race it against a manual cutter. This industry first is part of Milwaukee's new m 12 cordless power tool series.
lol wow u comparing the milwaukee to a home depot dull brand cutter lol

One other thing. Don't confuse this tool with the mentality that it will replace all other cutters. It won't. If it were the case then all plumbers would only have one cutter. There is a cutter for every situation and this cutter doesn't cover all situations. Also its a plumbing tool, not an electrical tool. You don't see plumbers de burring copper with an electricians emt ridge reamer

The only people that want to tell you it cuts emt is people that want to make a sale. It will carve rings in your broom handle too, but they don't advertise it for that. Its all about the spring pressure and the cutting wheel.

If you were creative enough like me. you could replace the tension spring which is providing the cutting pressure. Then replace the cutting wheel with a high quality carbon wheel and then you can cut EMT like me. Take the thing apart, go online. search for springs, Wella your done. Otherwise your gonna just spin the wheel because the emt is obviously harder than soft copper.

I say BS to whoever says this thing cuts EMT. I just bought one 2 hours ago. Charged the battery full and tried to cut a stick of 1/2" EMT. DO NOT BUY FOR CUTTING EMT !!!! I ran it on a stick for 10 min and NEVER got thru. NO WAY are Electrical supply houses selling this for EMT.

The thing is trash. I busted up my finger pretty good because I have to hold back on the tool so it doesn't "corkscrew" the copper. I was ready to break the damn thing when it happened! Now I put a pair of vise grips on the pipe to stop the "corkscrew" affect. But I'm just waiting for it to disappoint me in some way, shape, or form so I can smash it against the wall and send it back to Milwaukee and say it's broken.
Do not buy this tool!!!

Cutting EMT would sell more units. Milwuakee support was very prompt and stated that the tool was not designed to cut steel, but softer copper. Both the blade and the mechanism could fail prematurely if used on the wrong material. It would probably work for some number of cuts, but you would be replacing blades (and possibly the tool) at faster intervals. The only way to know for certainty would be to use several for an extended period and see how they hold up. It could void the warranty, too.

CHINESE GARBAGE!! We've gone through six of them in 12 days. Milwaukee says they are coming back by the thousands.
