  • Read Mr. Kucinich's new book. He's not about just taking care of folks.

That's a common misconception about democrats in general. We're about a leg up, not a hand out. Look at Habitat for Humanity!

  • I agree with thedaoofplus1. Kucinich wants government to help people take care of themselves.

  • webwalker13, I have been developing an idea for how we can get more accurate media representation of how Dennis Kucinich's positions are not so far left - as the corporate-owned media loves to identify him - but rather addressing mainstream concerns with viable solutions that an overwhelming number of people (who don't show up in mainstream polls) agree with. Could you make me a friend (send an invite or ?) so I can talk with you more? I don't know how to do that on here, yet. :-)

  • i think you have a very valid point.and i dont view debate as confrontation :), its necessary in a republic to debate.i like to take care of myself aswell, i dont go to doctors. but if i was working and had healthcare from workingand i got fired and found out i had cancer, i would like an option. i think it should be an option btw, not manditory, because manditory would violate my right to liberty.

  • About half my family feels as you do, and the other half (myself included) believe that "Life" refers to the ability to exist for oneself. Health care is the same as education in that they both enhance life, but are not required for life. I'm not interested in confrontation, so out of respect for the followers of Kucinich I'll just bow out of this thread.

  • i think that he believes that government should take care of the people is an inaccurate statement. he doesnt promote a welfare state. the onlything close to that that he does support is hr676( not for profit healthcare. but that premis is in the constitution and the declaration of independance. we have a right to life. i think that he sees the government as having a role in caring for the people, not taking care of them.

  • I support Kukinich in many ways, but not enough to vote for him. He seems to be too far into the idea that the government should take care of the people. I don't know, for me I'd rather take care of myself, and have the government make sure that no one interfers with my civil liberties. I'm not saying anything bad about Kucinich, the opposite is true, he is one of only a couple of honest and sincere candidates.

  • Make Congress Hear You! America, do not give your vote away. Make Presidential Candidates earn your vote. How? 1) Republicans/Democrats need competition for our votes; dissolve the 2 party control & consider third party candidates. 2) Notify, Presidential Candidates their promises & words will not win votes. Make them win your vote, by standing "Today," before Nancy Pelosi, Congress & the Senate to demand the will of the people be heard. Impeach Bush now. Start removing troops thereafter.

  • You have my vote. A person who really represents the people and who will talk with them!! Woot!! Woot!!!

  • Kucinich, you should have a converstaion with Ron Paul .

It would bennefit both of you.
