So I kind of agree that she was retaliating to the elbow in the gut, but what about the ponytail yank? From what I could see, that was completely unmitigated.

I just find it surprising that she wasn't punished before this went video went viral.

Mr. curea, I can read, but the question should be, " are you blind?" Lambert was attacked and she responded accordingly.
Furthermore, I find soccer to be a rather boring sport, nonetheless, I do enjoy watching Women Soccer Games. I would also like to see Elizabeth play for our U.S. Womens Olympic Soccer Team.

I don't mean to seem rude but your comments are silly. Lambert was never attacked. She got in Payne's way as Payne was walking backwards, and provoked a very lethargic jab. Your calling that an attack makes no sense. On the other hand, Lambert's two-punch to the head was outright assault, and was even less provoked (totally unprovoked in fact).

Lambert blew any chance she might have had to make the Olympic team. Aside from her behavior, she doesnt seem to have the skills in any case.
