  • Sorry I was speaking too quickly! Here's what you need to know: The planet is running low on grains (wheat, corn, rice) because the government is FORCING them out of the food supply to make fuel. Food prices will skyrocket and people will starve when we start to run out, which WILL happen because farmers can't keep up with demand. Plus, it isn't even good for the environment - the reason why all of this started! We should ALL be asking why we haven't heard more about this problem on the news.

  • how much have you studied the ethanol process? Ethanol isn't perfect but it is helping us. nothing goes to wast when making it. they only use the starch from corn. the rest gets fed to live stock. I do have some land use issues that i am researching, and fertilizer issues that i am taking another look at. but the same issues i have are being addressed by some of the best minds in the busyness. I think ethanol can have a good future. but we have to take the necessary steps to do it right.

  • lowa make more corn then any one

  • The farm lobbies and oil companies have all the power and money. The media and politicians pander to them. Don't think that Big Oil is against ethanol, either.

  • I hate ethanol, but I don't think food supply is really the big problem. The gov has subsidized corn for a long time. We have lots of it. And, the reason the excess corn doesn't get to poor people in Africa is a market/political/moral problem.

Ethanol is bad because it is a crappy, inefficient fuel and because it is horrible for the environment. Ethanol became popular because of the farm lobbies. Environmentalists have been against it for some time.

  • i am surprised to find this out on facebook and not the news. i did not understand most of this. Your speaking is great i guess it was too quick for me to catch all of it. Thanks tho i like this and i hope everyone will have major concern since this will effect everyone!
