For you who don't see than these two songs are similar, I am sorry to tell you that you do not have a musical ear.
It is like everything else that needs practice...
...at first you can suck riding a bike, suck at wine tasting, suck in economy, suck miniputt... the same applies to music joeisaflyingfish.

There is no "maybe".

Of course Satriani doesn't own the notes. He does, however, own copyright protection on all of his songs, including the melody Coldplay ripped off of. Having the same tempo and chord progression only helps support Joe's case.

@ShockingLee IF somebody uses 4 of my notes to make a great song and totally different of mine I would not whine of course satriani does NOT own the notes. BTW you cant NOT say is a copy just for the tempo or 4 notes, when a song sounds similar or identical THEN it will be a copy but ITS NOT

Both verses are nearly identical and the tempo IS the same. Wouldn't you be pissed off if someone else made millions of dollars and 3 grammy awards off of one of YOUR songs?

I am not the only one who thinks it sounds similar. Not saying identical.I have researched this and musicians with years of experience posted themselves that there are very similar qualities between the two. My problem is that I have not learned these songs so I am not arguing further. What I am saying is that good song writers from time to time may have a similar sounding melody. I never said Satch is a theif. Again, look to my original post. Always used SIMILAR.

sure.. But you can't honestly think it sounds the same cause it's totally off. Satch bases his song around that little "lick" and plays it over and over with some small licks in between and enanitos verdes plays their song like with the scale, just following the scale. it's a huge difference

Look, I athought I mentioned that the progression was not the issue. It is the melody. I am glad you took the time to research the dates. If you say it sounds nothing like it, you may experiencing some Denial. Believe me, I respect Satriani and have said he does not have to copy other artists. Maybe, these are just great musicians at work and from time to time great minds might think alike. There is no harm in that.

@blackguitar86 well the spansih thingy was released 2002 and satriani's 2004 so not years earlier. The chord progression is not the same at all in the spanish song and it sounds nothing a like.
