Kimberly vs. Katherine Part 1 (S1 & S4)

This is Part 1 of a video trilogy I'm making in response to Drks03 and his continuous assertions that Kimberly is an inferior fighter to Katherine. This video will compare Kimberly in season 1 to Kat in season 4 because Kim first appeared in S1 and S4 was the first full season that Kat appeared in.

The video will compare Kimberly and Kat in fights with foot soldiers, specifically the Putty Patrol in season 1 and Cogs in season 4. The clips will go in numerical order of episodes and the title of the episode will appear before each clip. Kimberly's clips will be first, followed by Katherine's.

Leave comments telling me who you think is the best fighter. I hope you enjoy the video.

Note: You will notice a significant difference in the quality of Kimberly's clips in comparison to Katherine's clips because of the source material. I got Kimberly's clips from the DVDs I own and since I don't have season 4 of PR on DVD, I had to get the clips from YouTube. It had nothing to do with a bias in Kim's direction.

I will say this, I clearly remembered Kim calling out for Tommy far more than Kat ever did. But Kim kicked butt, obvisoulsy, or else she wouldn't of been a ranger. As for Kat she did call on Tommy a few times, that I remember and I know becasue for years I had bee hearing about this and I went through all of Zeo and no, believe me she didn't. As for her character being weak, to me, Kat represents something they hadn't been able to get done with the Pink ranger, flaws like normal girls have them.

@ZoeJeren What was Kim calling out to Tommy for? Was it out of worry for him or was she calling for help? I can almost guarantee you that most of the time, she was calling to him out of worry. Kat was calling to him for help most of the time. As for having "flaws", are you implying that Kim was perfect? Because she wasn't.

@dsaubinable AJJ and David Yost were skilled gymnasts so I believe they did all their own stunts, unless you can prove otherwise. Morphed, I agree that stunt doubles were probably used, but unmorphed, I don't believe it. It makes no sense. This "they weren't skilled enough in martial arts to do their own stunts" is a lot of crap.

@mysticplatnium Kim and Kat were both "girly" and Kim was NOT weak. She was fast, agile, confident and pretty damn strong for a 5'2 girl. And as for wanting Tommy's help, Kim called for Tommy's help maybe half-a-dozen times throughout the 136 episodes she was on the show. Kat called for Tommy more than that in Zeo alone. Kat was completely dependent on Tommy throughout Zeo and much of Turbo. She was the worst female ranger in the series. Kim destroys Kat.

@ZeoJeren In the movie the only time Kim called on Tommy for a reason other then worry was when she was stuck in the thingies ribs and the other one was trying to get her

i love that this is an issue in 2012! kimberly was allllllways better that kat, she even beat a monster on her own with a cold!

Looks to me like Kim wins, as she isn't morphed and Kat had to morph to even be able to handle the "lackies" of season 4.

Kimberly wins hands down! The actress who plays Katherine wasn't even in this video... thats a stunt woman in the suit.

@PRgirlsrock Well, to me this is just how everyone sees things, differently and if she thinks or just joked about it, that's just a small detail. I guess its just ok to disagree because that's how we all work. And thanks about the Dana avie, I have a great friend who did it for me and to get this out there in my book no one will ever top Dana, she's my favorite Pink and yes very underrated.

@PRgirlsrock I totally agree with you about the fact that Kim had experience whereas Kat came in without none or for that matter any form of agile ability like Kim with her gymnastics. On the other hand, I believe Kim's character was made to depend to much on Tommy, this like I said is my opinion, because Jason was no longer there, but in this case it became cuter as they were a couple and no one thought too much of it. Kat was a ranger without having to rely too much on Tommy.
