"this computer is running windows vista home premium. this snapin may not be used with this version of windows. to manage user accounts for this computer, use the user accounts tool in controll panel.

@kingdmstr same with me but i just made a second admin account and reaet comp to factory defalts. tyvm james my great headache is now gone!

If you don’t have the reset disk / USB flash disk created beforehand there is no way to remove the password without using 3rd party software. There are many choices today that you can use.
I read some good reviews about the Password Resetter software which actually works it is very simple and can save you from a lot of trouble.
You can get the software from resetpasswordwindows
They claim that the software works on all platforms Windows 7 / Vista / XP and can recover any password instantly.
