Reuters report on the 2011 occurrence of the miracle of the Holy Fire which occurs only on Eastern Orthodox Paskha (it just so happens that Western Easter happens the same Sunday as Orthodox Pascha this year)

This is awe full reporting. 1) the RC dont get the fire, the Orthodox church does! 2) when the RC tried, they couldent do it. 3) not even the coptic orthodox (not in communion with original orthodox) can do it.

@5692Nate21 I'm not aware of an attempt by Latins to receive the Holy Fire. The Armenians tried to exclude the Orthodox one year & were unsuccessful (by a miracle) to receive the Holy Fire alone.

Yes, there is room to confuse the issue by even mentioning the Roman Catholic service (since Resurrection Sunday, Paskha, happens the same day as Western Easter this year) preceding the Rite of the Holy Fire.

Where did you get this info about the Coptic church from? Note that the main Sepulchre in within the Greek Orthodox area of the church. It is noted in the Coptic Synaxarium that a Coptic Patriarch attended with the Greek Patriarch inside years ago even after the schism. We should not divide ourselves as Christians, but unite in Christ.

apparently the holy fire appears every year to the orthodox calander how ever ther will be a year were the both catholic and orthodoz easter are on the same day
